Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of trading systems are included?
The 5EMAs Standard system covers an intraday strategy based on 1-hour and 15-minute price charts.
The 5EMAs Advanced module includes variations on the 5EMAs intraday strategy which allow the system to be traded on daily charts. The Advanced module also includes alternate entry and exit methods designed to capture far larger market moves than the standard strategy. In addition, a totally new and highly profitable strategy is introduced which relies on the Advanced Custom Indicator.
Do I need to use MetaTrader 4 to trade the 5EMAs strategies?
The simple answer is "No". The 5EMAs strategies (Standard & Advanced) are designed to be traded manually so any trading / charting platform provided by your broker or spreadbetting company is usually fine. The majority of the strategies use common indicators found on almost every charting system, however, the Advanced Custom Indicator is only available for MetaTrader 4 so if your broker / spreadbetting company uses a different trading platform then we recommend running a copy of MetaTrader 4 (available free) on a demo account so that you can use all of the indicators provided to identify trade opportunities but place your actual trades using your existing trading platform - this approach offers the best of both worlds .
What currency pairs are traded
As standard, the system trades EUR/USD, USD/JPY and USD/CHF but it is also possible to trade other pairs such as GBP/USD and AUD/USD.
Are the strategies difficult to learn?
Actually, no - they are all very easy to learn and include lots of example trades, but you do need to practice them because each currency pair has a different "personality". We recommend trading a demo account until you can trade an entire month profitably.
Is it possible to trade the strategies automatically i.e. using robots / expert advisors?
At this point in time, we do not offer the ability to trade automatically though we are looking at developing robots to do this.
What size trading account do I need?
Depending on your broker, it is possible to trade with an account of $100 or less (by trading micro, nano or pico-lots - $0.10, $0.01 or $0.001 per pip).
What times are best for trading?
Trades actually occur 24 hours per day so the strategies are suitable for traders in all timezones. The majority of trade opportunities occur during the London session, fewer during the US session and the fewest during the Asian session when trading the recommended currency pairs but, since the strategy can be applied to most pairs, it is possible to trade currencies which are more volatile during the Asian session so things actually balance out.
Can I get help if I don't understand something?
Of course - we have a support ticketing system and also a Knowledgebase that you can refer to.
How reliable are the strategies?
We have traded them (with slight adjustments) since 2001 and you can guage how successfully they can be traded by reviewing the account statements on the main page.
